Once you have a working solderless breadboard prototype of your project, you can make it smaller, more durable, and more permanent by translating your project to a solder-type breadboard. In this video, Becky walks through the process for mapping and building a soldered circuit.

This is my next step. Moving to a solder-type breadboard seems like a good first try at making something permanent. I have way too many solderless breadboard projects just sitting in my lab. I need those breadboards back for my new projects, but I hate dismantling past projects. I just don't want to give them up. Thanks for the great video!
  • I have been using this technique since the 1980s. Love it that you are bringing these training skills to a new generation. Keep up the good work. PS: I now work in Hardware at a big box retialer, but have mentioned DigiKey to customers needing information on special projects.
  • came here from the ad, not complaining , finally something not only of interest, but useful , thanks!
  • Thanks for the video, great information. And I love your nails. And I love this series.

You are just what I'm looking for. Wow! Now I don't feel so bad for dropping out of the EE program a number of decades ago. Thanks for the straightforward and clearly explained process of getting my Arduino project into a form I can actually use. You've got a new subscriber. :)

    Nicely done. Thanks.

I bought custom PCBs from three companies. DigiReds are the best! Faster to arrive too!

How do you power your perfboard with electricity?

How do you actually provide electricity to your perfboard?

I remember when these had a 276-xxxx number on them.

Your 5 minute YouTube advertisement interrupted my viewing pleasure. To let you know I pressed the skip ad button in 0.0000023 of a second. Why a five minute advert video? Tv adverts are not even a 1 minute 30 seconds.
