Despite the harm he's caused and the lives he's ruined, to see Kaido genuinely mourn and care for Linlin is gut-wrenching - that this monster of a man still has sparks of humanity in his soul.

I did not expect such a somber tone for this scene. I truly believe Linlin cared deeply for Kaido like a kid brother and probably felt a lot of resentment when kaido left. Because in her eyes, thats basically abandonment, and we all know she has abandonent issues

Big mom is probably the only person who showed Kaido kindness with no ulterior motive. She also gave him his devil fruit, she was really his big sister.

As much as Kaido might try to deny it and spout how oni shouldn't make friends with humans, he still cares about a select few people, some of them being human. Kaido and Big Mom probably had the best relationship they could have considering they are both extremely flawed, monstrous people. To see, even for a short moment, that Kaido is upset over the loss of a friend is heartbreaking

Seeing Kaido the Mighty Wano Dragon remembers the years spent with Big Mom in his youth makes me now realize that all that excessive drinking is a coping mechanism for all the people from his legendary generation dying at the oldest age and The Mighty Wano Dragon is the last one left. It's actually very sad once you realize it.🐉

"My name is Linlin. I'm the woman who'll become the king of the seas!" Goes to show that these veterans were just as ambitious and strong as Luffy, but unluckily weren't the destined ones. She didn't become the king of the seas but damn well near terrified everyone in it as an emperor.
