It hurts to see Rosanna seem embarrassed when she does not know the answer to a question :(
-
I feel bad for them they seem to want to have a good education, but they just never got the chance to learn any of that stuff
-
I think the instructor was just trying to get an understanding of how much they knew so that she can prepare the material accordingly.
-
Imagine being one of these girls and learning about space for the first time. I can’t imagine what a profound experience that must be for them.
-
I feel like my heart is breaking. No science-at all? Not being able to fathom the concept of space? That poor girl on the left-you can tell she was so totally embarrassed. God bless her. I hope she is strong enough to rise to the challenge of studying d not feel totally overwhelmed. I wish them the best.

The woman’s face was priceless...
-
No blame to these brave girls but this is why education, even just the basics, is so important. Sometimes it important to reevaluate old traditions and see if it really is best for the people in the community.
-
Well, she ASSUMED it was passable to everyone 😂
-
I appreciate how the woman handled her surprise

It's an interesting contrast. The Amish don't receive a proper education by our standards, yet they are raised to know how to grow and build and make things and be self sufficient and self sustaining in ways that most of us will never learn. I watched a video once about an amish community that raised a huge barn in one day. I don't know of any "English" carpentry crew who could do that
-
I can’t wait to see their reaction when they learn about The dinosaurs.
-
I feel bad for rosanna, she def feels like an outsider and wants to learn but is hard on herself. I think she needs a good therapy session to talk about her upbringing and just get some answers and closure! hope she figures it out, life isnt easy
-
tense moments when a teacher asks you a question and you don't understand the question. To be fair, we probably wouldn't be able to attend an Amish bible study...
-
I am questioning if they actually cut it to look like dead silence or if that’s how their conversations go😭
-
I feel bad for them and I'm pissed at their parents, but happy they got out and will make progress
-
It’s not just Amish schools that have such gaps in knowledge... I had a friend who went to church schools all her life. She went into college literally not knowing what cells were.
-
It’s sad that they seem embarrassed. They can’t help what they do and do not know. It’s how they were brought up in their community. Good thing they got out of it
-
These girls are so brave. I highly doubt I’d have the courage to do what they’d be doing right now. Being completely vulnerable so I can learn what I don’t know. I just want to give the both of them the biggest hug :((
-
Im from Kenya in Africa and I know education is a priveledge and not a part of life. Not everyone has the opportunity to go to school. I now work as an IT engineer in Australia and that helps me understand that not everyone understands computers even very basic stuff. May these girls find opportunities wherever they go 🙏🙏🙏

them not knowing about planets...literally just planets actually made my jaw drop. i felt bad that they were so confused.
