Split Heil Rear Loader with a CCC Chassis

Published 2014-06-21
Really enjoyed filming this truck. So I was google mapping and i finally found the origin of some red heil 4000 RLs. (still hoping to film this summer) They also had what looked to be a CCC split Pak-mor RL. So i knew i had to go film it. So couple months later i went and finally got to the route. I looked around for a bit but found nothing. Soon enough I went back to a street I had driven on not 2 minutes earlier and right there was the truck. I went to ask the drivers if I could film and the first thing i noticed was the heil badge on the front. Well me knowing they had heil 4000s i thought they just put a heil branding on the truck. After asking the drivers and getting the OK to film, i went around to the back and sure enough, there is another heil badge with heil packers. Took me a while longer than id like to admit to come to the conclusion that this isn't a pak-mor a 60/40 split heil it was. I was very excited to see this as i had no clue this is what i would be seeing.

I was very happy to see what a good pace this crew moved at. Made for a good day filming. I found these guys maybe around 8:45 and by the time i was done filming at maybe 9:15 or 9:30 they were getting close to the end of their route so they dont run too big of routes. This is seattles Housing Authority so that is where people who have trouble supporting themselves live. They are small houses, but in a really nice, well kept area. The only downside is cars. There are cars parked on all sides of the street. Being that the streets are small as it is, there is almost no room for carts to park at all. You'll see in this video the driver has to drive up onto the side walk because of how small the area is. That takes some skills right there. The tipper was also different than normal. There is a good amount of carts being manual dumped aswell as being tipped so you should all enjoy that. I really hope that you all enjoy this video, and probably by now (since i filmed this around Christmas time), I have gone back to film this company with Garbage Trucks AZ. Enjoy the video, this was one of my favorite trucks to film from around me.

Whoa, these are projects? The projects down here are huge apartment complexes and are some of the ghettoest places in the city. These here are luxury compared to half of the houses in all of LA haha. I always enjoy split trucks; two packers means twice the entertainment! Excellent video.
  • DSNY has a large fleet of these - 25CZ series - with Mack cabs. More recently 25DE and 25DP series as well.

trash and yard waste? Is there recycling ? neat find not many split trucks anymore .love how almost all of the bins are 35 gallon Cascades. Love art 10:00 driving on the curb. This are is collected by the housing authority right.

Those tippers are not Dimondback tippers, they are actually Perkins D6780 tippers. Great video!

Cool find!! Truck looks great, and i love the Cascades. Awesome to see an RL packing trees too! Tipper seems to work very well. So this is technically City of Seattle? Kind of confused, since Seattle contracts out their services. But it would make sense that this is government since they probably can't afford utilities. Very interesting, I had no idea they did  that, definitely not around me at least lol Great video - very entertaining truck!

Wow, thats an awesome truck! Does the Service Authority run it or a private contractor?

Still a little surprised the projects arent just contracted to cleanscapes like everything else. Did you ever get around to going back for recycle? Curious how well this area recycles. Also noticed your other vid seems to set out more organics, assuming that was a different set in a nicer area or something?

hi! thanks for your great videos. my company is looking to buy some double compartment compactors like this one. Do you know what's the compartments' capacity and the cost of these trucks?
