Attack Style Guard Passing Options

Published 2024-05-16
Attack Style Passing typically refers to threatening a submission in order to pass the guard. Sometimes this is higher risk than other times, but the effectiveness of this idea comes from the necessary response of the guard player creating space or opportunity in their reaction, allowing you to pass, potentially with a submission already working. Here are some of my favorite examples.

0:00 - 0:42: Intro
0:43 - 2:12: Diving Kimura Trap
2:13 - 3:29: Front Headlock to Anaconda
3:30 - 4:28: Front Headlock to Darce
4:29 - 5:43: "Flying" Triangle
5:52 - 6:53: "Flying" Arm Bar
6:54 - 7:57: Front Headlock to Back Take
7:58 - 9:09: Arm Drag to Back Take
9:10 - 10:31: Diving Toe Hold
10:32 - 11:48: Ham Sandwich
