It's ridiculous how good he is. This is timeless. True master.

somehow this track is even better acapella ... raw talent
  • Even today, modern producers are studying his background vocals and harmonies. And they marvel at the amount of layers in each track. THIS was MJ's superpower: his ability to harmonize with EACH take so consistently and so fluidly. It was audio velvet.

People don’t really talk about what an incredible vocalist/singer he was. His dancing was unreal but he also had such an amazing voice. What an unbelievable once in a generation talent.
  • “Goosebumps” when he starts to harmonize OMG. His vocal chords only HE can hear and deliver his way..super talent!

Michael doesn’t need music HE IS MUSIC!❤️😍
  • This man was extraordinarily gifted. There's no other way to put it.

Him & Marvin Gaye are the most PURE singers my ears have heard. Lots of great singers have came n gone but those two stand out to me

His harmonies are SO INCREDIBLY good!!
  • This is MAGNIFICENT! Read the book "Michael Jackson; the magic and the madness" by Randy Terrabellali as well as the 25th anniversary CD of "off the wall" with special interviews with Quincy Jones and Rod Temperton. Michael was still on the Destiny album tour (1978-1979) with his brothers when he was recording songs for "off the wall". Really burning his candle at both ends, but when your young you love that kind of pace! Quincy said Michael was the ultimate artist, easy to work with and did his home work so when he walked in the studio he was prepared and ready to go. No fooling around trying to figure out how to approach a song in a certain way. He knew what he wanted and would stay up all night learning the lyrics of a song so he wouldn't have to read it off a sheet. Quincy said Michael would come in ready and lay down three or four backgrounds in 3 or 4 part harmony on 3 different songs, then come in the next day and do the leads. Quincy was amazed at much they got done in a short time. Michael had "instinctively rhythmic senses" and those grunts, hiccups and squeals were his signature way of keep a pace and timing for moving through a song and giving it personality a flair! He was BRILLIANT!

MJ recorded his lead vocals from beginning to end in one take. Of course he could not do all of the background vocals in one take, but he certainly did the lead vocals in one take.

This is a perfect example as to why MJ is the world's best singer. p.s. thanks for the hot pic!
  • @DistantLights
Rolling Stone voted Michael only the 86th greatest singer. I think they're crazy
  • @bobbymarsh1
Michael's voice just runs up and down the musical scale..wow
  • @pinkcashmeres
I was adamant about the beginning being some unique instrument, but Michael’s voice IS the instrument!

What a bad ass man. Heatwave was the best group around in the mid 70's. Then he spread his magic everywhere. What talent!

Rod Tempertons song writing complimented Michaels voice perfectly. Like I can't imagine anyone else singing this
