he was and probably still is in absolutely incredible shape. Those swimming scenes? Not easy.

I learned to swim as a kid with Patrick Duffys dolphin style from Man from Atlantis in mind πŸ™β€οΈπŸ€— Thanks Patrick! You gave me dreams as a kid of swimming like a dolphin and breathe underwater 😜

Patrick Duffy always impressed me with how well he held his eyes open underwater
  • When he came to "Dallas", he was still an unfamiliar/struggling actor, because "The Man of Atlantis," only lasted for 13 seasons...but still talked about his role.

Loved this show, rewatched it recently, still entertaining.

Wouldn't it have been cool if he had portrayed King Atlan in the movie?

OMG!!! I was OBSESSED with The Man From Atlantis!!!!! πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜
I’d be full of goosebumps watching him swim like a Dolphin 🐬 & that was the beginning of me transforming my swimming like him & it’s still my favorite way to swim!!! I’m obsessed with Mermaids πŸ§œπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ too! Thank you Patrick Duffy for doing this before Dallas!!! Great memories!!! πŸ₯°πŸ’–

loved that show! Especially Patrick Duffy

I watched the show back then and felt the same way Duffy does about it. The first movie was very good, as good as one could hope from sci-fi on TV at the time. The other three movies not so much. The series was terrible and wasted all the promise.
  • I wonder why they didn't have Patrick Duffy make a cameo on Aquaman? Since he's the original Man from Atlantis!
  • Rod Moore
That was the problem with shows from that period and for years later. The networks never took sci fi shows seriously. The premise of shows like this and Battlestar Galactica were serious but the networks wanted to sell lunch boxes and backpacks so the tone of these shows changed. So sad because if they had let these shows be what they were originally meant to be they would've been much better. I wish they had given him a role in the movie. First I said he could have been king Atlan but he would've been great as vulko also.

My Mother and I used to watch this series so when my dad started watching Dallas the first thing we noticed was "Tony" from Jennie and "The Man From Atlantis" playing his brother.
