On this week's episode of Bills by the Numbers presented by FanDuel, Chris Brown and Steve Tasker share their draft favorites for Buffalo's positions of need. They reveal their wild card selection aside from receiver and defensive line. In These Three Things they discuss which direction Brandon Beane may lean in round one, how he may adjust without a third round pick, and which position could be addressed earlier than expected. Steve is quizzed on Bills draft selection history in The Numbers Game. Finally, the pair try to answer this week's One Burning Question.

Leggett looks like a great fit. He is also an excellent kick returner. In addition he recognizes when the qb is scrambling and will find a way to get open.

I have loved leggette for 3 months now. He is going to be really good for someone.

With the new kickoff rules in NFL, Bills need to emphasize "speed" even more now, both in passing offense and special team's play. Give me XL!

I want a wide receiver. A receiver. Not a 'use him all types of ways, hand him the ball in the backfield...' NO. I want a 'you throw him the ball, he catches it. He beats his man....' receiver.

I think unless someone they love falls to them in round one, I could see Beane moving back to pick up another second and a third in a deep receiver draft.
  • Mitchell is similar to Thomas imo. Legette seems risky, too raw. Franklin could be good, ditto for McConkey and Pearsall. They should end up with at least 1 good receiver considering the numerous options

    X. LEGGETTE !! 222lbs and runs a 4.38 got to get him.

IMO defensive tackle and cornerback on are the two most important positions to find a starter.

I do not understand the lack of respect given to Ladd Mcconkey. He is the best route runner in the draft. At 28 he is a steal. I promise you this, by the end of this season he will be one of the top if not the top productive receivers from this class. I think the same people didn't like Josh Allen at the time. Mcconkey will be an NFL starter for years to come. If we don't take him, the chiefs will. Im drafting Mcconkey at 28 and getting Nubin with our 2. Might have to move up a bit, but he will be our starting safety next year and years to come

11picks beans can package them and bet we get 5reallygoid aboveplayers

Steve, look at you scouting DLinemen out of SMU. DL Devere Levelston looks to be projected as a Day 3 pick. Maybe a 5th or 6th rounder?

The more I look at these wide receivers that could go at the back end of the first round, the more I like Xavier Leggett. If we don’t move up for Brian Thomas Jr. I’d be happy to stick in pick Leggett at 28.
  • I'd pkg picks...this yr and next..to move into the 3rd rd. We have compensatory pics coming next year. If there are studs available this yr move! Worry about next year later

I think corner could be a position they could look, but they also have PS guys they love to keep around. Jamarcus Ingram is always a guy people want to see.
  • @LaconicMind
I think it's more likely Beane trades the 1st pick for two seconds or a second and a third. I don't see him bundling late round picks given how much he values late round picks because UDFAs prefer less talented teams
  • @dirtyrandy2592
Yeah I only see the Bills drafting about 7-8 players. This draft is too top heavy.
  • Say it with me. Wide receiver. We actually should draft two in this class in the 1st two rounds, but I would be happy with one, and I don't think there is any chance he drafts two. Diggs doesn't have much time left and lost a step. I like Diggs, but he is getting up there. We need a #1 and #2, not just a #2. Beane has drafted two CBs in the first round and traded UP for a 1st round line backer. Up for a 1st round LB...still insane to see in text that he did that. Anyway, Two are gone, and the other is a bust. Wish he would spend that kind of draft capital on providing receiving talent to one of the most physically gifted QBs of all time. We had a top defense for 5 years. It didn't matter. Let's change the strategy and focus on offense for a change.
  • @zType2
I'd much rather see the Bills draft a CB or Edge than a Safety... you can get a very good safety in free agency without needing to pay too much.
  • @johnbarth684
If six qbs go in the 1st, then that will push talent to where the Bills pick. It's going to be very interesting.
