CCX used by Holcim and Norman Foster for low-carbon housing solution

Published 2023-06-06
Concrete Canvas’ CCX has been used to create a low-carbon housing solution as part of the ‘Essential Home Research Project’, a collaboration between Holcim and the Norman Foster Foundation.

The project is being presented in Venice during the 2023 Architecture Biennale to showcase low-carbon, sustainable building materials.

The concept building has a 70% lower CO2 footprint compared to traditional structures. To help realise these carbon savings, Concrete Canvas created a special variant of CCX in conjunction with Holcim using their range of low-carbon cement – further reducing the embodied CO2e of the CCX.

Good Work! Question: what was the weight reduction from the CC concrete formula to the HOLCIM formula. IS this an available product?
