Woodturning: The Snow Couple!!

This is the Christmas project I intended for last year and was prevented due to injuries, so I have been planning this project for almost 2 years. I had originally intended to electroform copper onto a pinecone for use as the "tree" but that ultimately failed, and I'm glad it did. I then tried to woodturn a tree using the inside-out concept I used on the snow couple, but it didn't work as I intended. Fortunately for me, this pinecone was a life saver, and it seems to button up the piece well enough. Needless to say, my wife has claimed this piece and it will not be for sale.

David, yesterday when I watched this at work, I had it on mute to not bother my coworkers. Today, watching again at home but with the sound on, and at the end when "Silent Night" came on... well, lets just say I went through a few tissues. It was a beautiful music choice to match such a great piece! It may have taken a few years from concept to realization, but it was worth the wait.
