every drummer needs to see this solo, this is true musicianship, talent, technique, limb independence, and creativity, damn !!!

One of the most underrated drummers out there. When people think of the greats, unless they really know they're drumming (or are a Journey fan) they rarely mention Steve, but quite frankly, he's up there with the Bonhams and the Pearts and the Moons.

Superb drumming, no surprise. And the sound of kit is unbelievable!

I just watched it 13 times in a row and I still dont know how the hell that is even humanly possible

Omg. That 16" floor tom sound. Perfect tuning all around.

What people don't realize is that its really easy what he played. Just remember to practice 5 hours a day for 20 years. You are good to go.

The thing that amazes me about this is his tempo...I got the distinct impression it didn't budge.

Play this solo through your surround sound system and turn up the subwoofer. This is quality recording. Great job (as usual) Hudson Music!

And the sound of that 16" floor drum? Booming. A life dedicated to drumming. This is the way to achieve excellence. Steve is a Master and a Teacher. How much talent in one person. Steve, que clase de baterista eres! Un Maestro en todos los sentidos de la palabra. Gracias por dedicar tu vida a este increible instrumento e inspirar a tantas generaciones. JSM

John Riley's a master as well, regardless if he's not as popular as Steve Smith, but the way he's just fixed on Steve and his drumming shows Steve's greatness.

I could listen to Steve all day. I would quit my job right now, and just take lessons from him all day every day for a year.
