I was a little girl when Where The Wild Things Are came out. I watched the movie and right at the end in the credits was.. Mountain Sound. I wrote down the lyrics on a scrap piece of paper to search who the band was, I fell in love with the song! I must have been 13 when I first heard the song. And I fell in love with it. I fell in love with OMAM. So deeply. No one else knew of them, they were at the time the most indie band ever, and any time I said “OMAM” everyone mistook it for Of Mine and Men. This band was my childhood and every new song they brought out was another bookmark in my life. To this day I truly love the band and they’re my nostalgic comfort on bad days. A band I know I can come back to and feel at ease. It’s rare to see a band mix folklore and their own experiences into lyrics as unique as they make them be. Many people are finding them out for the first time now: for those who you are, I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I did when I started as a little girl. I hope it’s as magical and comforting as it was and is for me. May OMAM long live, and may their music stay in a special part of our hearts.

This is the only image this band needs, probably one of the most original groups in a very long time, everything about them separates them from others. Don't let record labels , money and trends change anything.

I am 48 years old and all of my life I loved to listen to music. Nearly 10 years ago I stopped listening to "new" stuff. There was nothing that touched me anymore. Then I heard "Your bones" from "My head is an animal" and I was speechless. Loved the percussive sound, the voice, the lyrics, .... Thanks for that :-)
