"Your Genji over extends more" I immediately start thinking about the number of times I've seen the Zen front-line tanking...

classic gold support experience. It's so frustrating being the one in comms saying over and over "chill out and wait for the team" "get out or die quick" "wait for the team, you're in a 2v5, backup!" and its just repeatedly ignored or people get pissy with you and say "then keep up! heal me more! stop falling over lol" Since the season 9 reset, I've jumped back to diamond (where I was in OW1) in large part because I didn't get stuck with endless feeders that don't understand the S key.

16:50, "Tank shoulda gone Zarya." I feel like that's a reference to that Masters 3 dude from the other video lol.

The tips were outshined by the beautiful treadmill walking content <3

This was, without a doubt one of the best reviews you have done. The articulation of what was said was incredibly clear and precise. Great job coaching I learned so much. I can't wait for more videos of this quality and caliber!

I’m a support player who dabbles in DPS sometimes, but I recently started playing tank again (last time I played tank was ow1, sig/orisa). I was scared of playing tank for so long because I don’t like having all the pressure on me (unlike 2 tanks, it’s only 50% pressure). But it’s fun! (When I’m not getting booped endlessly, or hacked endlessly). Something I love the most about playing tank is I get to dictate where the fights happen. As a support player you kinda just have to roll with your team, but as a tank it’s the complete opposite (barring dps plays). I actually find myself employing tactics I try to use as support, as a tank, and it works surprisingly well. It’s funny because it’s exactly the advice emongg, flats, and jay3 say. Use corners, don’t overextend, hold the high ground, etc… (holding high ground is admittedly still a pain point. It’s surprisingly hard to hold, as support dps or tank!). Overextending is the big one. Normally as a support player I just have to watch shaking my head as my team fights the enemy all the way to their spawn then dies. But as a tank, well… I can stay back, and the dps might TRY to go forward, but they’ll always end up backing up to where I am because I’M not moving forward, saving us from unnecessary deaths. It’s great. (I’ll note I do move forward to make room, I’m talking specifically instances where you’re too far forward)

That mauga going in while critical is exactly why it's not a good idea to healbot. If you're spending 100% of your time healing, they just assume they're not taking much damage (as opposed to the reality, which is that they're getting healing to compensate for the damage they're taking) so they go in expecting to get healing to compensate for the extra damage they're going to take. Problem is he's already getting all of the healing, so now he's just inting. The best way to solve this is to pressure the enemy by being on a flank as kiriko (which indirectly reduces the damage your team takes), in line of sight of your team to throw the occasional heal (when a teammate is critical). Then if they happen to go in deep you can either help them kill their target from an off-angle, or provide healing to support their play. Most of the time, though, players should realize their health is low, take cover, and thus take less damage. Then a bit of healing gets them back to a point where they can go in again. Gold tanks don't pay the slightest attention to what their team is doing, but if you force them to pay attention by making them get critical before you heal them, you condition them to use cover, which means they actually play better. I'm sure it seems like you're intentionally sabotaging your team, but remember that kiriko can get a lot of free value from a flank. Not only do you threaten to kill a squishy, but you also force them to turn their attention to you. You can often live on the flank for a bit, draw enemy resources, then get out with your tp. In the meantime, your frontline is winning the trade because you drew the enemy supports' attention. As soon as your team gets a pick (either you on the flank, or one of the other four players), THEN you can return to your team and play safe, since now you out-value the enemy team.

The genji death at 3:40 killed me 😂😂😂 (that happens to me as lucio all the time too t

By the way, I completely understand the hesitance with using Kitsune. From my own experience, it’s easier to wait for the team to commit to the fight. I’ve had too many times I think that the team is about to go in, or that we’re actively going in, or that we need to go in or w/e, so I use Kitsune… only for the team to immediately split off, leaving the ult and wasting it. (This is me pointing the ult at the enemy team / objective btw, not just bad aim). As a result I find it’s better to wait until the team fully commits to the team fight before using it, to ensure it’s not wasted.
