To me the funniest part is seeing Charmander running away in terror. That is just so random.

I love how multilayered this is. You have the funny copyright joke followed by copyrighted characters running away, a man calmly riding a bike, people walking one way then running the other and that one guy in an apron walking up and dropping two coffees.

This joke has aged like fine wine. Just ask any Godzilla fan who's had to put up with Toho's strict copyright laws (particularly on YouTube).

This scene described Japanese entertainment at its finest. 4th wall break joke, having a detail conversation in the middle of chaos and the actors face expressions literally like anime. Walking emoji

For the first time in 20 years, I've considered that this wasn't planned. I have a feeling they originally wanted to use an actual Godzilla Float for this scene, but when Toho said "No," they drafted this entire sequence just to make-fun-of the situation.
