Interesting facts about Backslide and hidden meaning: At 7:50 (if you listen extremly close) a very robotic voice can be heard saying "NPI RAB Self Titled" as Tyler sings "what happened to what brushed under rug" (NPI can be heard right after "yesterday", RAB when Tyler sings "brushed under", Self Titled after the word "rug"). In this context, Tyler asks what happened to his first albums (NPI - No Phun Intended, RAB - Regional At Best and Self Titled). Backslide is also synonymous with Fall Away (in a religious sense) and both of these expressions are song titles (Backslide album Clancy, Fall Away album Self Titled). In religion, these words denote a departure from faith, but in both songs, Tyler sings, "I don't want to backslide (fall away)." Tyler, being a Christian, does not want to deviate from the faith and continues to struggle with evil in his head. By the way, both tracks of both Fall Away and Backslide begin with the words "I don't wanna". They are also different meanings in this song

The world that no one sees could be referring to the world of Trench. Notice that whenever he isn't in Trench he has the black hands and neck but when he is in Trench he dosen't. If you watch them in order you will see the storyline.

It’s about him fighting depression and anxiety he’s doesn’t want to backslide he’s talking about living himself better and when he’s in the storm he’s thinking bad thoughts and it repeats it’s a cycle
-
Came for the song reaction. Stayed for the coffee creamer review. 🙏
-
I think he got it exactly right when he says I should’ve loved you better. He is 100% talking to himself, And he’s saying, do you think maybe now you should let go of all the crap that you hold onto that keeps you down? I think the bread is symbolism for him and his depression because Ned symbolizes his creativity and it’s called “Ned bread”. You noticed when he’s in the storm and things are dark that’s like him in his head. The bread gets wet. The bread gets soggy. He throw some of the bread he hands some of the bread to young him.. so in a way it’s like saying although you can’t see the effects of depression on the inside they are affecting everything around you. It affects his ability to be creative. To focus. To complete tasks.. And he snaps out of it for a little, but ultimately always gets thrown back into this cycle
-
If you notice, when he first goes in the store, he throws something away that looks like another buns wrapper. It's a cycle.
-
Good to see you back. A good song would be The Big Push - Precious the video with the book
-
U guys are funny as hell 😂😂❤ And what u all said is true, but this song could literally mean a lot of things But i see it as a song that tyler is talking to his creativity (which is the buns) some he likes some tastes bad, some he tossed away, or some became soggy at the end of the road, then he starts over again n again. I love this song so much its such a vibe
-
I love the way you guys are so random & funny yet still manage to get all the meaning behind the song. It’s so entertaining yet also not disappointing. You pretty much got it all right. At the start he threw a bag in the bin… cycles are represented in many of their songs. This album gonna be a banger!!! 3weeks to go
-
this is my fav of the 3 as well - i think the main point of the song is he doesn't want to slip back into his old problems - but ironically in the video, he can't break the cycle of just doing something simple and keeps "backsliding" and repeating the same mistake
-
Fun to watch....It is all linked to the Dema story of course :)
-
I love y’all. You just made my day with this reaction! ❤
-
love how fun your reactions always are! this is also my favourite of the 3 singles. hope you can get tickets to their tour, think it's gonna be an awesome show if these songs are anything to go by.
-
I think this is more about addictions than depression, because you can't decide depression, and he is conscious about what he tries to avoid.
-
Welcome back Twan Gigglers aka Mr. Mills n T Man great track to react to a throwback in a sense to stressed out yet new and foward but rewinds.
-
Also I think yall should reach to some Falling In Reverse or sleep token 👌🏻
-
It’s about cycles…another thing..he’s literally “cycling” through the whole video on his “bicycle”
-
them creamers gotta be soooo spoiled lol
-
He’s talking to God- he sings to God all the time . My son thinks he’s talking to himself.
