People are clowning on kidd but don't stop to think why shanks got serious. He saw with his observation haki the kind of damage kidd will do if he didn't take him seriously and put him down. He was one shot not because he was weak, he was one shot because he was a threat to his ships and allies, not himself. but to those under his protection. Instead of fooling around, he took action as damned punk is a powerful attack. No point in letting him fire. Only Shank's core crew will survive it. Straw hats is a yonko crew now, people like zoro and sanji can tank it, but usopp? No chance, he can even take out quite a few of the grand fleet too. He was one shot by one of the strongest character in one piece, possibly shank's haki rivaling roger himself.

Eustass Kid is powerful but has extremely low intelligence. Like, Law correctly predicted he would rush through the gates to get ahead in Onigashima. Instead of making a proper plan against Shanks and gauging his power level, that fool simply rushed in and went on the attack. You don't beat a Yonko - especially Shanks - just doing that and Kid of all people should be knowing that best
