Fun Fact: Tom Cruise actually improvised this scene. All it said in the script was “Joel dances to Music”. The entire dance scene was Tom Cruise just having fun. This movie and this scene alone is debatably what launched his career.

As an actor I would've had an anxiety attack if I was asked to do this scene, Mr. Cruise did a flawless job with hardly a care. If I'm not mistaken this scene made him the big star he became.

I was at a K-Mart and I saw a piano toy thing for little kids. I picked it up and played the intro of the song and a stranger just did the slide thing at the end of the isle and walked off. I summoned Tom Cruise. Holy shit that was perfect.
