This song ""Precious Lord",  always brings me to tears. Both of my favorite aunts died in 2001 to cancer months apart.  At the loss my aunt who was a head nurse in Los Angeles,  I was a mess tryiing to get to California, crying throughout the trip, I had to fly to pack up my Grandmother who was in her 80s at the time, from Florida and take her to California  bury her youngest daughter...my Father had died of an anueyrism years before....At the grave site, after the church service, out of nowhere, a deacon started singing this song in the most heartfelt soulful manner, not a dry eye was to be seen, it was spontaneous and I will NEVER forget the comfort it brought to all of us saying goodbye to this wonderful woman, who cared for so many patients in her career.  God Bless Jennifer Holiday who I saw in Dream Girls in NYC back in the 1980s,  you have Honored Rep. John Lewis, who will be forever beloved to all of us.
