And people complain about swinging at a 3-0 count with a 7 run lead.

Seeing how posed Jeter was, the passion in swisher eyes, and the fury in Tex face makes me miss this era of Yanks.

Not just that they came back, they scored 15 runs in 3 innings

This game was incredibly special to me. I was 12 years old visiting my dad for the weekend in his basement apartment, we just set up a new flat screen TV and baseball was back for the season so we were excited to get to watching some baseball. We ordered pizza and next thing we know the Yankees are not doing so great. 9 run deficit didn't really phase us, My dad and I. We were excited to be watching baseball again, but I had so much faith in my Yankees. I remember right before I took a bite of my pizza I looked over at my dad and I told him "Nick Swisher's going to hit a grand slam over the big monster and it's going to bring us back" and I could not believe how right I was. I miss this squad, I miss those days, and I miss my dad. But baseball is forever.

Not sure if anyone will actually see this comment since it's 2020 lol, but its insane that Teixiera literally hit a homer both lefty and righty stance in the same game

What a comeback Rivera Jeter A-Rod Teixeira ... Gosh! miss the roster
  • I remember this game. It was on TV on Fox at a birthday party I was at. I looked up at the game and saw that it was 9-0. I thought, ah this one's over. You win some and you lose some I guess. I checked the TV again in the top of the 9th and just wondered how in the world this was possible. They had come all the way back from one of the biggest deficits in MLB history. To this day, I regret not watching the middle of this game and keeping faith throughout. Thank you for bringing back an excellent memory.

And on the same day, Philip Humber of the Chicago White Sox pitches the 21st perfect game in MLB history against the Seattle Mariners.
  • The best part was not having to hear Joe buck during the middle innings

8:43 Classic Derek Jeter being all calm knowing that the game isn’t over and not getting too excited yet. Mans a leader
