Andina Inca Music from Ecuador

Published 2016-11-02
Andean music is a group of styles of music from the Andes region in South America. Original chants and melodies come from the general area inhabited by Quechuas (originally from Peru), Aymaras (originally from Bolivia), and other peoples who lived roughly in the area of the Inca Empire prior to European contact. This early music then was fused with Spanish music elements. It includes folklore music of parts of Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Venezuela.

Traditional Music Channel is for everyone who has a passion for music.

Music is an expression of human creativity. UNESCO reports that among all the performing arts, music is the most universal and is found in every society, most often as an integral part of other performing art forms and other domains of intangible cultural heritage.

Traditional forms of music are considered carriers of cultural heritage because they represent expressions and traditions transferred through generations of a community.

With recordings from more than hundred nations our collection of traditional music offers a staggering diversity of our humanity.

Love this. I'm half Ecuadorian and I'm so proud of my heritage, the Americas were beautiful before the colonization.
  • I may not be descended from this incredible culture but I still love and appreciate how unique and special this music is

I have major concentration issues. This playlist got me through writing my bachelor's and master's thesis, and is now helping me to actually perform at work. IDK why but this and some of the other playlists on the channel really help me focus.
  • I had the opportunity to live in Ecuador 30 years ago. I found the instrumental music both calming and energizing. While in a very tough spot in 2018, after losing my Mom, having a teen diagnosed w diabetes and losing my job, I found myself losing it one day. I remembered this music and turned on various tracks on the computer. A Nephew who kindly helped me sort through some photos that day enjoyed hearing this genre for the first time and also said he felt calmed and energized too. When I get stressed, my kids remind me to find a site and listen. I am not Hispanic, but I felt tied to Ecuador. One of my Daughters found that one of her Dad's Ancestors came from Colombia to help Ecuador in their independence. It seems Ecuador is in our hearts in more ways than one.

I am from India, i have no connections with ecuador, one day i saw leo rojas music on my youtube as a suggestion, from that onwards i am kinda addicted to the ecuador music, it is so unique, makesme happy, cheerful and stops me to overthink about my future unnecessarily. It relaxes me, calms me. Love it.
