Any idea or the function (for managers) to Viewing everyone else's tasks in Microsoft Planner across different teams and planners
  • @efficientstuff
Any idea if they'll have a decent template system? I'd love to be able to move a basic checklist for plan types into each plan of that type.

How does it work if you decide to upgrade to premium - willit copy your project tasks across? I haven't seen that mentioned in any of their promo demos.

Hi! Quick question, as I have Planner and To Do in my current plan. With the new Planner coming next year, will the current one simply upgrade to the newer one or will it be a standalone thing to purchase separately?

Do you know if swim lanes are supported in Kanban view?

Hi Scott, I have a few questions: ‱ Will the new planner have permissions similar to SharePoint such as: o Share task/projects etc with individuals rather than via a "teams’ group", (the individual(s) may or may not be part of the team's group but are within the organization) o Access level for individuals to be able to "view only", or "view, edit but not delete. ‱ Will the new planner also have a recycle bin for the admin/full owner to access because the current planner does not have a recycle bin and if anything is deleted, it is not recoverable? ‱ Is there a version control to go back to the previous version(s)?

I developed and used many Microsoft Project templates using Project 2007, Project Server 2007 and earlier Project versions. I wonder how I can keep those project templates. Should I use Project Professional 2021 or Project Planner Premium 2024?
  • Hi Scott - any idea if Project for the Web's "Roadmap" function (for pulling high level views of multiple projects to create a programme/portfolio roadmap) will be supported?
  • @lawferll
Hi Scott! Do you have any news about limits and boundaries and about backup? I have a client with the current version of Planner who exceeded all limits. 3000 tasks in one plan. Now they want to backup and start a new plan.

Thanks for the video. Do you know if it will have the functionality to duplicate a task which has been completed with a new due date? For instance, there is a task that needs to be completed every quarter within 15 days, as soon as the current one is completed, the one for the next quarter would be generated...

What about licensing? If a user has planner as part of an E3 and uses Project for Web do they qualify for a Planner Premium license???
  • @n.spannuth1327
Hi Scott. Did you try out @mentions in the comments? That this is not possible is a major issue for me at the current planner
  • @mattsnow2376
Hi Scott, congrats on hitting 4k subscribers. Thanks for the content-in your review of the New Planner, is there going to be a method in the "premium" planner to limit changeability of tasks to tasks that belong to identified staff?
  • @matshepherd118
Can anyone please let me know if the new Planner will be able to be integrated with Power BI? For two years now I have used many different methods of connecting Planner to Power BI and every one has been either very expensive or a soup sandwich. Thanks.
  • @dquagliano
Hi Scott, good video! I wonder if you know if there's going to be a way to see task of other users, cross plans. tipically example of resource management across multiple projects. So far, all the videos I found, show your only your own task across project. Do yo know about this? Thanks!
  • @robertbauer8457
Hi Scott, Thanks for the great tutorial. At 6:33 you show an example of some subtasks below a main, bold task. Will it be possible in the new MS Planner version to create subtasks or promote tasks in the grid view like it is currently possible in the MS Project for the Web? Many thanks!
  • Thanks a lot, it seem that is has been improved and some of the weakness solved. An important requirement to me is the possibility to open the plan created in MS project desktop, will this be possibile in the new planner? It will be also possible to get access the planner database by using Power Bi or other DB (MS access as well, that is very fast and easy to use)?

Just found your channel- awesome work! Based on these updates, do you think Microsoft is moving toward combining Planner and Lists? I hope so, as I would love that.
  • @bodynfocus
This is a great overview. Thank you. The struggle with my team is consolidating and categorizing a myriad of misc. To-Do lists (to document small, incoming requests), general planning of both small and mid-size (multi-step) projects. I also have a need to maintain a high- level view across all of these (To-Do's, plans, tasks, etc.) I have high hopes we'll be able to finally consolidate that with this tool.
