You show several constructions, but you never show any of them for long enough to show what they are meant to do. I recognise 0:36 as Life simulating Life, though nobody would ever guess that that's what it does.

Are you kidding me? This is not the best of Conway's game of life, far from it.
People have built extremely sophisticated working algorithms that actually do stuff.
Search for the game of life clock just as one example of this. -
