Halo 3 IS the best halo in my opinion. Just the music, campaign, multiplayer, graphics, maps, enemies, etc. its just amazing, and it shouldn't be considered "not as good as halo 2".

Spartan ops should have tried something like this for some of the ops instead of repetitive all-infantry battles. Lots of AI allies and TONS of heavy covenant vehicles. Maybe we can have something like this in Halo 5
