My wife worked in a hotel in 2019 and we ended up taking a suite to live in. Then, CoVid happened. Everything shut down and most of the hotel staff stayed home. In this large hotel, it was myself, my wife, the manager and her husband. They were on second floor, we were in the first on opposite ends. I remember it feeling like the world had ended. We had to drive to a city about 30 miles away once a week and there were no cars on the once bustling highways, nobody in the stores, just the key personnel. I still went places and did things, but felt like i was one of the last people on Earth. When night came the world was a liminal space. Anyone else have fond memories of this time?

I love just existing and doing daily life things from 2-5 am, it’s the most ethereal and peaceful time to me😇

I wish more places were open 24 hours, I just want a quiet place outside the house to go and enjoy

Imagine waking up and seeing that it is 4 am and no matter how long you wait, no clocks change wether it is digital or analogue.. The sky outside is a oddly comforting orange or green, you can’t quite tell what color it is and the air feels like a perfect temperature for… everything?

this sounds silly to say but, liminal spaces are truly cinematic masterpieces.

I didn't realize how much i was missing out....on all of it, once i commenced working a First shift job. 2-5AM is THE sweet spot of life

I swear, nobody's playlists are so emotionally powerful.

Walked through a closed mini mall a few years back. Movie theater was the only thing left. Muzak was playing. Completely empty. It was sad and beautiful. That music is like a time machine ❤

Amidst the fantastical realms of dreamcore and weirdcore, find the fantasies of your own mind. Let the art be your canvas.

I'd love to live in one of those houses in nostalgia overload.
  • As someone who has read into the families of old who woke up at 4AM for the sake of getting chores done around the house and work on the farm accounted for, not to mention tending to the crops and taking care of the livestock, all of this until bedtime at 7PM without a minute to spare; this is something that has made me feel proud to honor those who went through the blood, sweat and tears just to keep their household operational. Get it? I wake up at 4AM on Wednesdays and Thursdays for work, just to make the most of my working hours in the entire day that I’m awake. Now that’s respect.

"Cold Neighborhood" sounds like one of those old "New Age: Music for relaxation" videos with a blurry slideshow of "beautiful" images.

Cold Neighbourhood has me imagining some tropical islands in the morning, with birds singing in the jungles, not the cold environment:)
