F-Sim Space Shuttle: A Vanity Post

Not particularly exciting but to date the only PERFECT score I've received. This is an addictive app that uses real (edited) audio from an Atlantis mission. It's HUD is accurate as is it's flight dynamics.

I've read that astronauts have to perform a minimum of 1000 safe landings in the SLT (Shuttle Landing Trainer) aircraft before they're qualified to fly any part of the reentry or approach. So I'm never going to fly a shuttle... I mean I couldn't qualify and they're not flying anymore so there's that.

Being an aviation and space nerd, I love this app and it gives me a small inkling of what's involved in the ultimate dead stick landing. Think about it, in this video I go through 50,000 feet to a full stop in 4 1/2 minutes.

This scenario didn't have a whole lot to it like my last one of these, a decent crosswind coming off the nose at about 2 O'clock and an over cast. But this was a perfect approach and landing. So it's boring but it's a good vanity post.
