Very cool seeing The Kid, The Big Unit, Edgar, Buhner, A-Rod all in their youth

JOMBOY and the MLB working together is going to keep baseball alive in these difficult times What a time to be alive
  • I was watching sb nation doing their part 2 of 6 on the Seattle Mariners and coincidence mlb decided to show this game lol
  • If only the mariners of today could provide magic like this...spent my whole childhood waiting

Ken Griffey looked like an Olympian sprinter rounding the bases. One of the best finishes in Mariners history.
  • I wish they kept the entire opening promo for the game (search for MLB Vault’s lower res video of the same game) in this video, because it was 90’s epic. But thanks for posting this in HD! Loved this team growing up (and stubbornly still love the M’s today) – Ken Griffey Jr., Randy Johnson, Edgar and Tino Martinez, Jay Buhner, and A young Alex Rodrigue all on one team. They should have won more than they did, but they saved Seattle Baseball, and I’m grateful for it.

I was watching the game at home with my now ex-wife, my two step children, and our biological son. After Gar's hit and Junior's mad dash home, we were going just as crazy in our living room, as the fans at the Kingdome were. Hard to think that it has been 25 years now since that magical night, when just about everyone in the Pacific Northwest (at least that one night) was a Mariners fan.

And what a series Edgar had so underrated every where but Seattle he finally got in to the hall Edgar we miss you thanks for the memories

Griffey's mad dash was as close as Seattle has come to winning the World Series. Kenny Lofton's mad dash the next series ended their dream and they have yet to reach that far since.
  • I'm already missing the Kingdome, the Mariners have had great memories playing every game vs any baseball team both in the NL and AL. Better yet, build a museum so that Seattle fans would gain a little knowledge about the Kingdome, they'll love it.
  • Wow, this footage is in great shape! And thanks for uploading at 60fps!
  • I wish we had the full Dave Niehaus broadcast of the game so I could sync it. The longest known copy on the internet starts at 2-0 to Cora in the bottom of the 11th.

How come every time I fall asleep watching something it takes me to this specific game

Without this memorable Division Series or their improbable postseason run in 1995, the Mariner probably wouldn't still be in Seattle. They likely would've been further denied a new ballpark, probably would've been sold to an ownership group would probably would've moved the team somewhere else within the following year, perhaps to Tampa-St. Petersburg, Florida. Easily one of the most memorable Division Series ever played, perhaps the best one of all. :-)
