Hawker Typhoon RB396 rear fuselage restoration preview

Published 2023-03-09
A short video put together by one of the talented engineers at Airframe Assemblies, who have been commissioned by the Aircraft Restoration Company to rebuild RB396's rear fuselage. This video was created as the rear fuselage rebuild was commenced, in late 2019, not long before the world shut down for two years...

The rebuild of this rear fuselage is a huge first step in the return to flight of Hawker Typhoon RB396. Completion of this section is due in late 2023, subject to continued support, and will make it the first airworthy section of a Hawker Typhoon to be completed anywhere since the war.

Thank you to everyone who has supported so far and allowed work to get this far.

glad to see progress is still progressing!
  • Looks magnificent! I remember when my father was part of the project but unfortunately left it was his dream to get this thing flying. He had been researching the Typhoon and loved it for ages. I remember when he came home with the fuselage and it sat in the garage along with the Napier engine and it’s come this far. Keep up the truly amazing work.

Isn't there a Typhoon restoration in Canada in a more advanced state? I think his channel is called Typhoon Legacy.
