Ah, Super Mario Maker 2. A sequel to the famous Mario game that allowed you to make your own levels. Released for the Nintendo Switch in 2019, this game still holds up very well with a large player base and community. That keeps pumping out new level after new level. From my perspective, there are 10 level types I see. These include:
1. Traditional levels that are fun to play through, designed really well, and are my favorite level type.
2. Speedrun levels that force the player into a time crunch and can go either way in difficulty and design.
3. Kaizo levels that require a ton of skill that I lack and therefore can’t beat unless I play Multiplayer Co-op and me and my teammates do excellent cooperation.
4. Music levels that never miss and get tons of love, but are really hard to make.
5. Race levels that I almost never win in Multiplayer Versus, especially in high-level play (A rank or higher).
6. Blue Platformer Levels and Kaizo Lite where the levels are still very difficult, but at least I’m sometimes good enough to beat them.
7. Puzzle Levels that I either do or do not know how to solve.
8. Random Levels where I don’t even know what the heck is going on.
9. Hot Garbage Levels that are almost never fun to play.
10. Refreshing Levels that can cause seizures and are hated by me and a large portion of the Mario Maker community, especially since they’re usually at the top of the leaderboards (in which they don’t deserve to be there in the first place)..
The elephant in the room comes from Level Type 9, and that’s because Hot Garbage levels are created poorly, from as little as a pipe not being attached to anything, to as big as enemy spam topped with three giant winged Bowsers. The other problem comes from Level Type 10, which speaks for itself.
With this in mind, this video will explain some things that you should never put into your level in Super Mario Maker 2

This video was inspired by Gd Colon’s video, “What NOT to put in your Geometry Dash Level”. Link to that video is in the outro of this video.

If you have any extra suggestions of what you shouldn't put in your Mario Maker 2 Level, please reply to this comment, as I may also make a sequel to this video and can use some great information.
