In this video:

While there is no single correct way to walk, most of us have a gait where we swing each arm forward when its opposing leg moves forward; likewise, as with the length of the stride, which is generally the same for both legs, the distance of the arm swing is usually about the same for both the left and right arms. While exactly why humans do this hasn’t yet been definitively proven (with the most popular theory being that, while not essential, it’s mostly about improving balance and decreasing angular momentum of the body), the fact remains that this is how the vast majority of humans all over the world walk… But not so with Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation.

There was one thing missing in this video: a clip how putin walks
  • 0:29 Every four legged animal does this and it's basically the exact same step order still, even when humans just walk on two legs. When running, this transforms into the same step order as a trot. In other words, humans naturally walk as if they'd walk on both legs and arms, just with the body upright and the arms not touching the ground. So it's a legacy of instinct that has survived ages of evolution. 3:22 Well, his KGB days haven't ended yet, I presume...
  • @gogobram
Summary, and I quote: "nobody really knows why he walks this way". That will save you 5 minutes.
  • Be honest. You wanted to see the actual walking footage but you didn’t find that.
  • Frankly, if you don't think Vlady P is still packing iron in his jacket you're missing some information lol. Not only did it get drilled into him in training, dude is still ready to go full John Wayne with a quickdraw lol.
  • I know lots of people who walk like this or similar ways. They carried pistols as side arms be it in war or civil times it's all the same. And years later without even carrying weapons anymore the movement imbeded into the mind. I personally also had to learn to walk slowly and still to this day struggle with it, soon as I move, I make fast movements, ever since when I was a kid and young adult I was always in a hurry to school or jobs due to penalties etc, later when I retired, I just couldn't slow down. Often people tell me I look like I am charging an attack at someone and fear me even tho I just moved from A to B with a causal intend. Also for people who don't know, it isn't healthy to walk fast all the time, body needs moderate movements the extremes and strains being a short burst only.

YOU'RE REALLY GOING TO SHOW ME A VIDEO ABOUT PUTINS WALK WITHOUT EVER SHOWING PUTIN WALKING?!
  • @maplobats
"...presumably because he's holding an imaginary gun..." I would not be surprised at all if he regularly carries a non-imaginary sidearm.
  • @cruisecrazy7066
Sounds like a great way to identify KGB operatives. A wonderful "tell".
  • @CampX4
I have the same "problem". I have never noticed it, my x-wife once brought my attention to the "problem", telling me to walk normal, i look stupid. "Swing both your arms!!" she said. I have never had any training or been a member of the KGB, I'm from South Africa. But yes, I swing only one arm when I walk. Regards, Hendri
  • @cobaltdev
Short answer: he needs to get his gun out quickly as they were trained like that in the KGB
  • My hypothesis: Severe hemorrhoids. He holds one arm still as a concentrated effort to function through searing rectal pain.
  • I put this together right away. I’m glad my daddy passed all his smarts to me! Thanks dad!!
  • @michaeldiem2244
He walks that way because of kgb training ,keeping your gun hand at the ready ,old habits die hard
