They always put 2 tags on bears when tagging them, and the color is for the year they were tagged. 2 are placed just in case one falls off. This was really cute. Thanks for sharingโค๐

In the early 70's I hiked the Appalachian trail in Virginia. There were bears regularly visiting our camp sites. We loved seeing them. After all we were from the Eastern Shore.

The bear is so cute.

Bear cubs are with their mothers for a year to a year and a half. They then go and search out their own home territory.

Most black bear cubs stay with mom around 17-24 months old.

Hard to believe they have been documented to 600 lbs . They normally carry around 250 to 275 lbs in summer but will double that by winter. Thanks Dawn and WIll.
