  • Chris is running on pure adrenaline here, which is why he can handle any pain without flinching and handles the family mostly effortlessly. His kill or be killed instinct has kicked in. And he wants to survive.

Love how Chris doesn't become this cold-blooded psychopath instantly. You can see his hesitation and maybe even disgust when he has to hit the brother a second time.

To everyone who complains that Chris turning super violent is "out of character"... It's called fight or flight. Kill or be killed. It's human nature. If presented with the appropriate circumstances, every single person is equipped with this type of primal behavior. Even you.

The symbolism in each death is creative. The father died by the beast that he hated, he hunted and now succumbed to in its death. The mothers only strength was her power to mentally manipulate but in the end when Chris overcame that manipulation she went with physical strength and in the end Chris was beyond feeling pain and ended her with hardly a struggle. The brother was beat just as he said earlier those who master jiu jitsu win - with their heads. He was beat with a bocce ball then had his skull foot stomped. Then Rose, who was betrayed Chris’ trust, was betrayed twice before dying. Once by her grandfather, who had overtook the body of one of her male victims and then again by the idea that she had been saved by the police.

I started ugly crying when Chris said “I am the get out” and then gets out on the entire family. Beautiful
  • I love that he uses the same knife she used to hurt him right back at the mother's eye. Symbolism for an eye for an eye for sure.

I love how Chris never says a word, because there is nothing to say here. This is a beast breaking out of his cage, and God help anyone that gets in his way.
  • When she stabs him and he just leans into the pain, that’s determination to survive if I’ve ever seen it

As a black man I appreciate this movie on a whole other level, I mean the cotton in his ears that saves him, the buck trophy being used as a means of attack, the silence as he does what needs to be done, this movie is a masterpiece and I could watch it a hundred times over, the retribution he achieves is spellbinding in it's satisfaction to attack such a vile family of antagonism as a whole!!!...

Chris takes that knife straight through the hand and just powered through it, not even making a sound. Just turning it back on her. Such a badass protagonist
  • @KiuLang
Oh I wish ever person in every horror movie was smart like Chris.
  • The move to open the door to bait him into kicking it closed at 5:43 was such a gamble, but also such a smart move. There was a small possibility that Jeremy wouldn’t have kicked it closed and just not cared about him opening it
  • I wish we could’ve witnessed the mother in pain a bit more. She was evil. This whole scene is so satisfying.
