  • Youtube is best university, it doesn't give us certificate, but makes us strong in real in any field we are in.

Clarification: In my entire video I am not referring to college degree. College degree matters (as of 2021). Also there are certifications where you have to put lot of work to earn it, those also have positive impact. I am mainly referring to those certificates where you pay say 20$ or 1000 rs on some edutech website, you watch bunch of videos, there is a test that is very easy and you get a certificate. Such certificates hold no value. Think about this: You are a company hiring for data analyst position, you get 100 applications. 99% of them will have some or the other online certificate. They have become cheap and easy to obtain and in this world anything that is easy to obtain holds no value. That is the bitter truth! I want to save people especially from those institute who are scamming them to earn money on the name of job guarantee programs
  • I get what you are trying to say and totally agree that certificates will not get job. But just wanted to add that for someone who is from Non-CS field, certificates do help in at least getting interview calls and shortlisting (given that you've made personal projects too). For a Non-CS graduate, no one believes directly in skill until there's a little proof that shows you learnt some theoretical concepts. Resume gets dumped the moment you apply on a job posting.

Dhaval this is a brilliant video , I was having a discussion with a fellow colleague and friend about this and he said the same thing you said. Certificates definetly don't hinder you but they don't help you significantly in getting a job. Instead we need to show our technical skills through our projects
  • I am your new student and I really appreciate your work. You are my favourite teacher. ❤️

certifications can be good for students and freshly graduate, because mostly all certification have capstone project based on real world problem and scenario if you can do it its mean you know some stuff, hands of knowledge of particular skill and I believe most of companies wants hands on knowledge of particular skillset, those tiny projects can be a good way to reflect your skills and depth knowledge, clean code writing and many more things. that's all from my perspective and experience
