    This fight scene shows Ip Man's character so perfectly. He gets on his knees to save his son. He stands up and fights when needed. He takes the fights away from the children. And when he saw Cheung Tin-Chi fight, he went back outside to even the odds

    Much of Ip Man’s mental energies are expended on being kind and merciful to the people he’s beating up. He won’t cripple you if he can help it; he’ll just do enough to get you out of his hair. If he’ll just drop that compassion and focus on smacking people, he’ll look as ruthless as, if not more than, Zhang.
