As an Aussie, I've been genuinely touched by the plethora of wonderful and sincere tributes from people in England - Gat in this one is fabulous and gracious - I've also seen a heartfelt tribute from Michael Vaughan today where he broke down in tears. To me, Warnie captured the hearts of England like Bradman did - despite breaking their hearts on the cricket field. It's why I always have and always will feel an affinity with England and the English. RIP Warnie.
  • I'm an Aussie, Gatt's was an awesome batsman, captain, and all round decent human being. RIP Shane, you will never be forgotten 🇦🇺🇦🇺

Lovely to hear Mike Gatting’s perspective on that first ball. Well said Mike.

Dickie Birds face after the ball hit the wicket says it all! RIP you legend.

Poms like me are not supposed to be too keen on Aussie cricketers, but I loved everything about this guy. Shane Warne was in many ways the sort of bloke we would all love to have been.
  • Aussie here. Really enjoyed the interview. I found out about Warnie passing away via Google News this morning. I literally could not believe my eyes. I refreshed the page to make sure it was real. R.I.P. Shane. I really like the fact that so many English cricketers and fans are paying tribute to him. We're mortal enemies on the field, but I feel like there's a lot of love and mutual respect there, too.
  • Englishman here... He tormented my sporting part of my mind.... Greatest bowler of all time and a canny batter and slip fielder too
  • He is also highly respected and admired cricketer in India. He has huge fan following in India as well . I think all over cricketing world he will be missed.

The greatest leg spin bowler I ever did see. A huge loss. RIP Warnie.
  • I’m not even a cricket fan but everyone in England has heard of Shane Warne and I’ve been watching cricket on YouTube since his sad passing and I’m a football fan but what a true great sportsman and more importantly what a good decent bloke the world of sport and especially Australia has lost. RIP mate.
  • Warnie was probably the most loved Australian in India. All budding leg spinners in India have tried his iconic action. He will be missed and the void he has left will not be filled ever. RIP Legend 💔
