Okay so the new Genshin Impact 4.5 update is out and with it we have the new Alchemical Ascension event, which, has proven to be rather interesting.
In this event, you make potions according to market demand forecasts and attempt to create the potion most suited to selling the most. It can be a bit daunting at first but it's really quite simple.

Potion making
Potion making is straightforward. You pick out of a pile of ingredients you have and you arrange them to fill the most spaces. You want as few spaces left empty as possible, as this raises the amount of EXP you gain for the potion, the ingredients, and your alchemy level. You can and should make potions with more than one effect or sub effect (they'll say something like Enduring or Warm), as these potions sell for more and have a higher chance of covering the market demand. Ideally, you should make potions that cover all or most of a specific market demand.

Make sure to pay attention to the main effect as well as the sub-effect of each ingredient, as those will determine how well the potion sells according to the market demand forecast.
You can check the market demand forecast at the top right of the screen indicated by a signal tower icon when in the potion making UI.

Ingredient Cultivation
This is a simple farm where you choose which ingredients you want to grow. You can run out of certain ingredients, meaning you always want to make sure you have a decent stock of things to use, otherwise you'll find yourself in a pinch.

Per Cycle checklist
Each cycle, you will want to follow this checklist:
Speak with Freda and buy any upgrades she has
Check your cultivation and harvest all ingredients before planting more
Make a new potion (there's no limit so far to how many potions you can make total, but only one potion can be made per cycle)
Enhance your potions for increased market value
List your potions according to the market demand.

Make sure you pay attention to the market demand forecast to remind yourself of which potions will sell the best. After a few cycles into your current cycle period, it will reveal exactly what specific effects will sell the best.

I'd recommend buying the farm plots/harvest area before the alchemy upgrade, since you can make similar potions without the extra 2 overlap tiles.

Hope Hoyo implement this feature permanent I love has a potion shop in Tyvat. It also help clear up any unused items in inventory.❤❤

Can't be sure if this is what caused my 3rd play-through of day 1 to be so much more successful, but try to make it so each potion only covers part of each market's requirements individually, but your stock in the store covers the requirements of both markets when combined. That way each market will have to buy more than one kind of potion to get everything they want. It also makes it easier to make higher level potions by cramming more of two ingredients in, instead of trying to fit in three to satisfy all 3 requirements in one (like trying to fit 2 dandelions in to add 'Relaxing', without overwriting anything with Dex, when the other market may not want Relaxing, but does want Dex, or another main-stat you've combined with dandelion's Dex/Relaxing).
