  • Apologies for the weird audio halfway through, the mic got too close to my face 🤦🏻‍♀It does resolve itself later in the video though, and hopefully it's not too bad!

I’m 63 and retired in Oct. I use to work 10 hours day sitting in front of a computer. Years of doing this were not good for my health. Terribly out of shape and gained weight as well as diagnosed with fibro. I weaned myself off my RX and am slowly regaining my life and working on improving my health. I started keto in April and have been working out 3-4 times per week. I’m keeping track of what I eat daily and weight and measurements. I want to enjoy my retirement(one of my many whys!) Love your channel!
  • @GoFish2006
I love this ME. Im inspired. I work 10 -12 hours a day, sitting at a desk the entire time. I so need to make physical activity a part of my day for all the reasons you mentioned. Between the work hours and the stress of my job, I feel 20 years older than my 45. I too am one to set big goals with 100% belief I will do them and then....life gets in the way and I make excuses. You've inspired me to try again!
  • @HysterRunner
Mary Ellen, thank you for your honesty about getting back to your fitness goals. I’m 54 and was doing well until 2 years ago. I had several people pass away and grief took over. I appreciate the reminder that it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. I’m aiming for one day at a time.
  • I was on a health journey for 3 years and was doing very well. Had lost weight and gained muscle. My chronic back/sciatic nerve pain was gone since cold laser treatments. I was feeling fabulous. Then, last fall I found out that I had pancreatic cancer. I've been in and out of the hospital since last November. 3 surgeries- one was an emergency. The other 2 planned. Cancer has been removed and I'm home recovering. I've lost a significant amount of weight due to chemo and surgeries. I've also lost muscle mass. I'm a little older than you and have many of your same concerns. Thank you for sharing your wellness book (love the cover). I got some great ideas for my own rebuilding of my body.❤😊
  • @lorrem2539
I applaud you for taking your health by the horns! I had blood work done and I am prediabetic. I do not like to take medication, so I went online, found a meal plan and am determined to stop this in its tracks.
  • Thank you for sharing. I am 53 and I felt like you were talking about me, I could totally resonate with you. I also have an all or nothing mindset that I've been trying to overcome. Love this idea. You've inspired me to do the same.
  • @leeg1966
In my wellness planner i decided to put in a habit breaker tracker. This is so i can break bad habits like spending too much time on my phone or watching too much Netflix.
  • Thank you so much for this... it was extremely motivating. I found the chit chat as benenficial as journal set up. I'm looking forward to Part 2!
  • Thank you so much for posting this. You have inspired me to start one for my type 1 diabetes!!!! I'm knocking on 50 and things are so much harder to keep in check now. I hope you keep sharing these. I love the meal idea pages and the know your why page!!!!
  • I’m 44 & this has always been a huge part of my life until the last couple of years. Life happened & my health has suffered. I’m being very proactive though & started working with a dr who started me on HRT. This will be huge for the future.
  • I am the same way with trackers. But after a crisis, and my ADHD, I have started them again this week and FINALLY they are working.
  • @teddited9682
This is very helpful…inspiring. In my 60s w/chronic pain for many years : IBS, GERD, and arthritis in my spine. I have gone through so many HP health trackers. Lately have given up on tracking and exercise. This inspires me to try again. Need to think, even the littlest bit helps
  • Hi Mary Ellen, good health as we grow older is so important. I'm 70 and medication-free, and can still do push-ups. #1: eat clean. #2: stay physically active. #3: hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. #4: get your zzzz's. Read ingredient labels on everything, even vitamins. I was shocked to read that sugars are added to some tablet-type vitamins, and even packaged veggie and chicken broth. So many ailments are the results of eating foods that cause inflammation throughout out bodies, from joint & muscles, internal organs, skin, mental agility and our overall energy levels. Do your research. Talk with your PCP about your goals. Keep a food log. Some health insurances offer an on-line exercise & food log that has all the nutritional information and calorie needs/calories burned to help you stay on-track. ... and find that sticker in the "Happy Goals" sticker book that says "PERSISTENCE NOT PERFECTION ", and remember to give yourself grace. Thank you for all you do. G.

I watched a video this morning. I think she was flourished hope. Something like that. Her video was about journaling. What I really got out of her video… the pebble effect. Throwing a pebble in water and how it has the ripple effect. Meaning. Any action is going to make movement. Ex. Put steps in for a few days and then didn’t one day.. putting the action in again will have the ripple effect again no matter what… Her process or journaling prompts move her forward. The things we want in life turn into your goals To achieve those goals we take action and those actions turn into our routines or habits and that’s where the TRANSFORMATION starts. Toss your pebble and make those ripples ladies…
  • I'm 57 I walk over 10,000 steps day everyday and I also just started weight training 3 days a week. I'm also on weight watchers. I decided to get healthy now because if I don't do it now then when. I also have fibromyalgia and arthritis so there are days I don't want to do anything because of all the pain I'm in but I do what I have to do for my health. Good luck on your journey.
  • @mamamonster09
My fitness goal is to be healthy and fit. Trying not to focus on my weight because its easy for me to get discouraged by tracking my weight. I'm focusing on how I feel. Good luck on your journey! You got this❤️🎉
  • @cmreader
I’m currently trying to figure out how to get my health in check, too. I’m only 41, but I have so many issues with joints and pain with inflammation. Thankfully, my job I work outside, so I am moving around a bunch but I’m still not strengthening. I really want to give Pilates a shot because I feel like it could be beneficial with toning and also stretching/lengthening my muscles to help with pain.
  • @Lola-zu2kt
Thank you for this- I have totally fallen off track since Covid- I used to run with my daughter, do strength training, do races-5k,10k and half marathons, and obstacle course races- and since have put on 20lbs, lack energy and don’t have the endurance I once had. This is great motivation 💪🏻 🏃‍♀️😊 thank you 💕
  • @lorinousen4982
This is a wonderful idea. I am 60 and I understand how you feel. I have started a walking program.
