Leaving the main homie for a girl you haven’t seen in 7 years is crazy work

My problem is that Woody's whole thing was LOYALTY, up until this movie. Especially in 2 and 3, his loyalty to Andy and his fellow toys gets him to change his mind about going to Japan in 2, and in 3 he's convincing all the other toys to be loyal to Andy and come home from Sunnyside. Then in this movie, suddenly he's like "nah I'm out" and leaves his friends. Sure Bonnie doesn't play with Woody, but all his friends are still his friends. The other toys are WAY too comfy with watching Woody leave, even if he's going with Bo.

The part where Woody left everyone else genuinely made me cry

Andy: “Hey Bonnie! So how’s Woody doing?” Bonnie: “Who’s Woody?” Andy: “W- Woody
My old Cowboy Doll? The one I told you to take good care of? The one I almost didn’t give you, but gave to you anyways to give him a better life!” Bonnie: “ohhhh that Cowboy!” Andy: “YES! That Cowboy! Where is he?!” Bonnie: “I think I left him at the carnival.” Andy: *Heavy Breathing*

Toy Story should have stopped at 3. That was the perfect ending.
  • @NathanSpies
Toy Story 4 is honestly not that bad. It’s just that they should’ve ended at 3. I don’t know what’s gonna happen in 5

Thinking about how Andy's mum is friends with Bonnie's mum so there is a very high chance that when he visits for the holidays he'd probably ask Bonnie how Woody is (bc he gave her very specific instructions to take good care of him) and the girl isn't gonna have a clue. Am I overthinking, definitely but idc

Andy’s Collage Teacher: “Where’s Andy?! He’s missed 3 of his classes!” Andy’s Mom: “He said something about getting back his Cowboy Doll after finding out Bonnie lost him.” Andy: *Driving 115 mph down the interstate* “I’M COMING WOODY! DON’T WORRY!!”

I remember people got so mad at Bonnie for "neglecting" Woody, but kids move on from toys all the time!
  • @Tootz3374
12:27 If you remember from the first movie Woody spoke to Sid fluently with his Real voice so they can speak to humans.
  • Remember when Jesse was a major character, one who wasn’t sidelined into only one or two relevant scenes?

Are we gonna talk about the fact that this movie went from being praised and loved by many to being just downright hated on in the span of 5 years?
  • @Im_Jakon
Imagine if Andy ever talks to Bonnie again, and she tells him that she just straight up lost woody
  • @brenlc1412
Wow, what a good film. I sure hope there isn’t an EVEN MORE unnecessary sequel to ruin it.

I know Pixar movies haven't been great in the last few years, but one thing they continue to do is innovate new graphics technology via their films. They're not animation studio, they're a graphics research company that happens to make movies as well. Every movie they've made has led to a research paper being published afterwards due to the tech they designed for them.
  • I know of of the biggest criticisms is that Woody leaving feels hollow since we don't get enough time to actually see him conflicted between staying with Andy/Bonnie's toys or going with Bo and her group. Had you at least had Slink and the others with him on certain points where even they could see him slowly wanting to go instead of just leaving them for the end, it'd feel more believable. As much as Toy Story 3 is considered a good ending with the passing of the torch of Woody and friends to Bonnie, if they had to make this, they needed more impact for that major decision.
  • @huntercool2232
This movie is exactly the reason why I’m nervous about Kung Fu Panda 4. Breaking an almost perfect trilogy is not something companies should take lightly as it could risk ruining the entire franchise.
  • @Little1Cave
Still bummed that Klaus lost to this at the Oscars. It’s alright, but it’s very much an unneeded sequel that didn’t really add much new. At least it looks gorgeous. ❀
