With Aussie skids, they deduct points for sitting on the limiter because anyone can keep it floored, the idea is the keep it just below limiter with throttle control in as high as possible gear.

In the 80’s in Lafayette Louisiana they used to have burnout contests in parking lots. They would chain you Up, and let you try to pop the tires. Or if you could handle doing a burn out they would let you try without a chain on your bumper. The winner would win money and a new set of wheels and tires. Good to see an evolution to that being done now.
