Camping Black Sand Beach, Big Island Hawaii

Published 2023-10-23
Punalu'u Black Sand Beach is a beautiful spot to camp on the Big Island. We spent the weekend enjoying the beach, the views, the fresh coconuts and fish that the island provides. We also stopped by Volcano Winery on our way back to Hilo- a must if you're passing through this area.
Thank you for watching!

Random stranger here. I just came across your video and I gotta say it almost made me cry. Happy cry. 47 years ago I did a solo bike tour on the islands. Camped out for a week here in back of the pavilions. Some young guys were living on their grandmother's property across from the pavilions and they took me in. Fed me. Showed me around. I even remember a secret swimming pool they went to. It's weird how old memories work. I can still see their faces. It was beyond wonderful. I also remember them fighting the good fight to keep some resort nearby from expanding. I hoped they won. Looks like they did. Keep enjoying your life.

Thank you for the video. As a kid in the late 60's and into the 70's enjoyed Black Sands very much. Haven't seen it in several years hope to go back this year.
