Daniel grew tired of having to pay rent, so moved into a cave and now lives without money! But is this the real reason for his lifestyle?

From "A Different Drummer"
A celebration of those who are truly different from the rest of us and who, according to a ten-year study, are healthier, happier and tend to live longer. The film examines how and why “dancing to the beat of our own drum” is good for us.

If you’re not hurting anyone, or breaking any sensible law, a person should be able to live in anyway they see fit.

I work in the medical field. Have a great career, house, money. I'm constantly stressed with my life and I am simple. I do run and hike a lot. I wish I could live in the mountains. He's not missing out. I envy him.

When it comes to being a minimalist hippie this dude is the real deal.

The problem isn't that he's homeless; it's that the rest of us are caveless.

My brother lived in a cave up in Glenwood Springs Colorado for several years. The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News did a story on him...they said he was HOMELESS... he was quite offended because he wasn't homeless he loved nature and the outdoors and he lived his life the way he chose to live his life.

A lot of respect for this man. I couldn't do it but there is a part of myself that knows that he is correct. We are all slaves to our life styles & the almighty money.
  • Man says "I'm employed by the universe" me baked af at 3am damn thats deep

I am surprised that the government hasn't been harassing him or shutting this down. I hope that he is able to continue his way of life the way he wants to live it. Good on him.

"I never knew such security before I gave up money." Deep!
  • We shouldn't miss the point that this man was suicidal ans needed to find a way out of that psychological prison. ..this was his way of doing that so I'm glad he did and happy for him.

This man is probably one of the freest man in modern american society.

Seems to me like he's the only one who's got his stuff together this year.
  • 12:37 "... useless thoughts and useless possessions go hand in hand..." Wow, that was enlightening👍👍

People thousands of years from now are gonna find his cave paintings and be confused about how we lived in 2020

I can't argue with anything the man says... he's right. "The system" is a trap, and this man has escaped. God bless him.

Im a homeless man in orlando fl, been this way for 4yrs. There is something to be said for this minimalist way of life. Weirdly i dont want for much. Once you find a way that works for you and then it becomes routine daily. It presents itself quite nicely amonst the rat race about. Its a simpler way of livin. One i can respect, live, and adorn. From the city to the cave, best of luck to you friend.
  • Wow, he is so courageous. His point about thoughts are like weeds, just throw them out and his depression was lifted, that is profound.
