Brought to the U.S. in the 1880's and a staple of the prohibition era, nine-pin bowling now lives on only in Texas.

Here in the United Kingdom we play 'skittles' with 9 - pins. About 50,000 of us go out doing this every week! I'd love to go to San Antonio for a few games, but it's 5,000 miles as the crow flies, so a bit too far for an evening...! Thanks so much for posting.

Very different, although if you have a love for the sport of 10 pin bowling, we cant forget it's heritage.

I haven’t played 9 Pin yet but I love they use the same Ten Pin Balls and Pins.

They have it in Clinton, OK now. They have four person teams. The alley does regular 10-pin bowling on other days.
