According to studies, the brain of a newborn is not yet able to readily process complex melodies, harmonic structures, or orchestration. This album brings together soothing bass, light piano, mellow classical guitar, and elements of “crystal music” (percussion music with instruments made mainly of crystal) in producing bright, simple melodies in the diatonic scale that are just right for newborns. The medium tempo appeals to newborns, and with the simplification in use of instruments and chords as each song progresses, a feeling of gradual relaxation is experienced.
Danish musician Henrik Birk Aaboe has produced such popular albums for parents and children as Music for Mother & Child and A New Day Begins. His objective with this album is to “create the perfect sleep atmosphere for babies.” With a theme of fairy tales full of a sense of childhood fantasy, the songs are simple and pleasing to the ear yet by no means lacking in detailed excellence of craft. We hope the album will serve as a wonderful series of heartwarming bedtime stories that calmly bring your child into a beautiful dreamland.
