Statistics made easy ! ! ! Learn about the t-test, the chi square test, the p value and more

Published 2019-06-10
Learning statistics doesn’t need to be difficult. This introduction to stats will give you an understanding of how to apply statistical tests to different types of data. You’ll learn about numeric and categorical data and gain an understanding of when to apply a t-test, a chi-square test, ANOVA, and a correlation test. You’ll also learn about hypothesis testing and the p-value. If you’re new to quantitative research or data science, you’ll find this an extremely useful introduction to statistics.

I think the reason why people find statistics (and math in general) daunting is because usually lecturers and textbooks present the big scary formulas in the first step, and that puts up a mental barrier of understanding with the student. You've explained it very well here without introducing any formulas. Of course, eventually we do need the formulas, but it's far more important to get a grasp of what and why we are doing it first, and then the formulas come in.

This is like being pulled out of the statistics 101 forest straight up by a helicopter, seeing the landscape for the first time, and then looking down and realizing you've been walking in circles the whole time lol! Brilliant explanation!

This video is incredible! I was panicking thinking the statistics I needed to do for my research project was going to be absolute trash because I didn't exactly know which test was appropriate for my data set. THANK YOU x100. I'm so relieved.. AND IT MAKES SENSE

Simple, concise, easy to follow and most importantly encouraging that Statistics can be tackled and understood by anyone as long as it is taught right. Keep up good work man and thanks to your sponsors.

No words in this word can describe how much I appreciate the existence of this video. This is among the few of the BEST educational videos I have seen on this platform, or any other platforms....I was taking notes all along, and it serves as an incredibly clear outline for introduction of statistics for someone who has never taken a statistics course but needs it for research. This is the type of video I will 100/100 recommend to others when they need a summery like me. No joke, top 1 on my list, 100% will recommend. I mean, the video itself, the representation, everything is perfect to the point I really, really have no idea how this popped up in my recommendation and only has some nine thousand views!!!! All statistics students, even non statistics student should see this......!! This is the type of content I would wish I can make if I do start making educational videos one day!!! Thank you for being such an inspiration!!!!!!!!
  • @LashaGoch
Fantastic video explanation. I understood all in 12 minutes what I did not understand during 1 semester. Thank you, Greg.
  • @uttonio
This is hands down the best thing I've ever watched for the past week.
  • @krialva_4780
This is the absolute best breakdown of statistics I've ever seen!

Wow! I was looking for this summary my whole academic life. Thank you... now you have saved me from retaking a biostatistics course which was all about calculations but not the concepts.
  • I normally watch videos like this at 1.75 speed to save time, but I definitely slowed down for this one - taking notes as well. This is a well organized, useful, and well explained overview!
  • absolutely amazing. I have always believed that mathematics, logic, statistics are extremely easy subjects to comprehend. It is only the instructors who teach in complicated ways what is actually simple. Thanks a lot for this video!
  • @An-oz1kt
THIS WAS SO USEFUL! I've been so deep into trying to understand statistics that I didn't know where to go anymore, this is what I needed. Back to understanding the basics.
  • @flyhighdp
I haven't seen such an amazing, clear and precise tutorial. OMG
  • Thank you Greg and your sponsors for this video, it was easy to follow without the need of filtering through statistical jargon! Much appreciated.
  • @taleajane5472
Thank you. I struggle with understanding and learning anything numbers-based. This video has been immensely helpful <3
  • I've been going crazy trying to figure this all out for an assignment. I wish this was explained to me like this 10 years ago!!! thanks so much for sharing

I need to thank the YouTube algorithm for suggesting this video just as I was about to start analyzing data I collected for a study… You, sir, have just saved me from weeks of pain! Can’t thank you enough!
