  • Your bookshelves are so “black”. I love that! ♥️ Showing me that I need to update my book shopping trends & bookshelves!

🛍️ I started reading at 3 yrs old (my mom is a teacher) and I’ve read so many books in my lifetime from romance to Stephen King. I fell off reading a few years ago but now that I have my Kindle, I’m back! I love your channel for recommendations.

That Children of Blood and Bone is so so good! The audio on Libby makes it so much better! Transports ya.

Take My Hand is going to pull all the heart strings friend. As a nurse I was ready to 👊🏾💥everyone 😂😂😂 The Boyfriend Project is a cool little read. Part 2 (The Dating Playbook) is waaaaay better.
  • Thx for bringing summer in sag harbor to my attention. My bf's grandma has a house there so we visit often and it would be fun to read this while I'm there. His dad is black so the premise of the book and the fact that it's by a black author makes me even more interested
  • Esperanza Rising was one of my favorite books growing up! I was so happy to see it on your shelf for middle grades!!
  • @animalluver3700

I absolutely love your Black Readers Collection! Thank you for being the example that is desperately needed. Have you ever thrifted books? A thrifted book haul would be appreciated. Take care!
  • Hey Kayla, I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the middle grade book. (I got daughters and nieces, that I would love for them to read some cool books.) I read take my hand. Be prepared for an emotional ride. Especially being a mom, that book can be triggering. I enjoyed children of blood and bone and I cannot wait for the third book. Happy reading!🛍

🛍️ I love that you do middle age books to recommend to your niece and collect books for your sons. I do buddy reads with my 12 year old daughter and have book discussions with her.
  • @buttonsbebe
Read Take my Hand with two book clubs. It was good. I have a home library like yours. I need organized it. Thanks for the inspiration.

You have so many books I love and want to read on your shelves!! I'm trying to prioritize books that I own this year as well! I adore your Historical Fiction collection!.I'm the same way with new releases. I always want to read a book or two from an author's back list before getting to their newest release! what a great list of books!
  • @lumilumi22

  • 🛍️I would love to see a bookshelf tour of your fantasy by black authors. I just got into fantasy and I’m starting to like it.
  • You will love Take My Hand. I read it last year and it reignited my interest in historical fiction. I couldn't stop thinking about those characters for months and it is still the book I recommend to EVERYONE.
  • @jadaw644
This is my first video from you and it's exactly what I needed! 💛 I'm always tempted to get new books, but I still haven't read all the ones I own!
