The Jeep Recon EV gives Jeep the ability to innovate and test limits without messing up the Wrangler name plate. Well done so far!
  • @johnbertram
To me, the Recon hints at being an XJ Cherokee successor with its squareness and 'normal' size yet with proper ability.
  • Looks like the Cherokee XJ with removable doors and modern style. I'm glad they have this vehicle!

The Recon looks a lot like a Rivian R1S to me. Maybe with some Bronco mixed in. I like what I see so far.
  • Jeep stepping up the electric game. The Recon reminds me of old cherokees. Square as they should be
  • Honestly I love the Recon, it’s freaking adorable, like a HUMMER EV and a Jeep Renegade had a baby.
  • I actually really love the idea of this vehicle. Topless, doorless, offroad capable and electric
  • @CJ-rk5eg
The Recon is the design inheritor of the Cherokee XJ. All square design language. Look closely.

Plug In Hybrids are a nice middle ground that I wish was recognized as sustainable for years to come and offered on every model. The offer real range on E, dont come with the range anxiety, and often perform well. The F150 powerboost is showing how great of a system you can offer.

Wow Tommy I think that is the most re-edit I've seen from you. I must have been super excited about this. Great content thank you
  • Thanks for the coverage. Excited about the Recon! Also, you shouldn’t call yourself ugly. You’re a handsome guy, well spoken, intelligent, and charismatic. Don’t sell yourself short. 🙂
  • IMO jeep missed the ball by not having the avenger here in the US. It looks good, and would really be competitive in its market.

I’m excited too. Great post! I would comment that “body on frame” vs “unibody” doesn’t indicate more off road performance in any way. The XJ Cherokee was unibody with solid axles and was equally capable to wrangler when similarly equipped. Solid axles vs independent on the other hand. . .

Crazy to see how far Tommy has come from only 5 years ago or so. Great job on this Tommy! Looking forward to more info on all these new jeeps!
  • Regarding removable glass, they are probably referring to the cargo area side windows, which are removable. Perhaps the back glass is as well.
  • I think that the square headlights look fine. It keeps this and the wrangler each looking unique.

I really like the Recon idea. As some have already said, it reminds me of a electrified and 21st century Cherokee XJ, and we know how well it did for Jeep. My biggest request of Jeep on this vehicle is please keep the solid axles for the Recon. If Jeep wants the hard core Jeep guys to embrace electric, it must be solid axles with ability to modify and personalize....and a minimum of 35 inch tires.
