Our Extreme DIY Bathroom Makeover on a budget is DONE! We can’t wait to build a new bathroom and eventually demo this one to turn it into our master bathroom, but until then at least this one is functional and CLEAN! This video is sharing how we’re bringing our 1960’s fixer upper into the current century with removing carpet from the bathroom, painting the bath tub, replacing the toilet, painting the floors, and fixing a bunch of plumbing issues.

Guuurrrlll!!!!! This is a fantastic transformation, even for a bathroom that you plan on redoing again later. But honestly, this is a great video because there’s so many people that can’t afford to do a full bathroom model makeover, but these are really great tips for trying to make it look as best as you can. You both nailed it.❤

Finally a bathroom makeover video I can totally relate to! You didn’t spend a fortune or go with the latest trends but still a clean, updated and inviting space. Thanks for all the tips!
  • Do not apologize for anything. These projects are difficult and hard work. Knowing the bathroom will be torn out sooner or later, it is difficult to care how well this temporary project turns out. You did a great job! I applaud you for your efforts!
  • @7sarahanne
Never apologize for keeping it real ! Not enough people on YouTube do that ! It looks beautiful by the way .

Allison, why are you saying it’s not the greatest makeover? Compared to what you started with, it looks like a new bathroom! Love the paint color! Sage green colors are always my favorite and first choice for paint colors. I’ve used the same type of epoxy kits to paint the bath tub in two different houses, and have been really happy with the results. Your new house is turning into your new home right in front of our eyes!💜💜💜
  • Older houses! Gotta love it! Nothing is ever level or plumb after years of settling and perhaps too many beer breaks! LOL!

I totally get your obsession with the green color🤩 I think that that was my favorite part of this makeover, how the green added more character to the room😊

I have the exact same 50-year-old yellow tub, tile, and sink with the addition of ugly orange flowered, 70s wallpaper!!!! Determined that this is the year I will do something about it! Thanks for the inspiration, as I cannot afford for a professional to do it.
  • @margaretrose8105
Aww..my favorite color is yellow..I would have loved the tub etc. But you did a fantastic job re-doing it. Love the wall color.😊
  • @marypucci6814
Love the paint color. Kudos to you and Christian for tenacity getting this done.
  • @marjiemadlena5871
This turned out great! I think this was a great option for a temporary fix until you are ready for the full remodel. Love the paint color you chose.

Unbelievable how much better the bathroom looks. As a retired military wife, I understand your frustration. We didn't makeover a house but lived in military housing where you had to make the best out of the situation. Congrats on you second pregnancy and move. You guys are rocking it.💚

Seriously this video is awesome. I relate to this 100% my 1970s bathroom is feral and needs revamping you both did a brilliant job
  • @32446
I love those old baths. Such a nice shape.
  • @susan_brehm_art
Wow!! This transformation is amazing! I love the green color! And so worth it because now it's pretty comfortable so there's more flexibility about when you redo it. Great job!!
  • @sallycroft2191
Wow! What a difference! You and Christian are a formidable team.
  • @dogmom7698
Those metal anchors from the towel bars, you just take a screwdriver and knock them through to the other side, then spackle the wall. Great makeover!! I remember those young married days!
  • Same here. We're going to demo our bathroom in a year or two years, but still... have been living in it for 2 years with the most hideous tiles ever. In the process of painting over them and it is soooo worth it. The zen feeling it creates is totally worth it. Good job!

Shout out to this Super Mom for tackling this task with a whole baby in the house. I would have been "getting around to it" until my child was 12 years old 😂
  • @Mrsquick
For future references I suggest using Zep mildew mold and stain remover. This stuff you guys is AMAZING! It's strong, yet mighty. I spray this stuff on and and it melts any dirt, grime, grease. I let it sit for about 5 minutes and rise and follow up with warm soapy water. This stuff removed all the dirt from my walkway in front of my house. I couldn't believe it. It's sold everywhere. Recently I found it ij the 3 dollar aile at dollar tree. 😊
