Hey Desertsun, glad to see this one pop up. I'm jumping in a transit van and heading south the end of the month and have not installed a heater since I plan to only be places that are warm. However, anyone who has been in 'the south' in December and January knows the evenings can get pretty cool. I'd be interested to hear your opinion on what I might be able to use in a van just to take the edge off first thing in the morning. I have 6kw of batteries, but power is something to use sparingly. Can't use anything that will add humidity and no open flame. I was leaning toward something with the PTC tablets, #7 or 8 look pretty simple but am unsure of the power draw. What would you use in such a case? As always, thanks for sharing your ingenuity and efforts. So very interesting!

I looked through Amazon and saw this, couldn't we just buy this one unit instead of the fan and the PTC? "PTC Air Heater, 100W 12V Car Fan Heater Constant Temperature Air Heaters Electric Fan Heater with Mounting Holes" I didn't post a link, but if this is searched it will come up, and there are more than just this one, I just used it, just because. This may total a 'little more' money, but not much at all if it is. I have a 100 watt panel... I really like this idea of this particular style of heaters, thank you! ***Never mind, I found the answer in your videos on this, and the answer to those that wonder, was a yes, it will work.

With the metal candle heaters (since you said it would run for hours) if you want even more heat, could you just double it up and make it a tee pipe heater?

Great tips in our trublemade europe right now with electrisitybills running skyhigh! I will definitly go and buy som claypots or lecastones to build me a thermal mass fire to help to heat up the house to keep the cost down! Also in the workings on a heattransfer from my fireplace to a 50 kg thermal mass, just a box with sand in it, and water in pipes all along the sand to heat it up from the fireplace
