the best thing about fasting is - you can start it right now !
  • I water fasted for 9 days a few years ago & lost 9 lbs that I kept off until now. I was in the best mental & emotional state of my life. I can’t wait to fast again. Thank you for this!

7 days of genuine fasting does leave you feeling like you hit reset. Clearer thinking, more switched on etc. It's a good feeling.
  • Excellent talk! I am 75 years old, and I have had 2 strokes and 3 heart stints. In the last 22 months, I have been fasting 18-20 hours per day for 5-6 days per week; as a result, I have lost ~30 pounds; am no longer pre-diabetic (A1C was 6.0; now 5.5); reduced acid reflux by 95%; reduced blood pressure meds by 75%; ended Celebrex for arthritis pain in knees and hips; have seen increased cognition – a significant increase in typing speed; more bruise resistant than in the past and my skin is less dry and chapped. I have not felt this good in years - fasting is a miracle.

Drinking 600 calories of sugar a day is not fasting. You just need pure water.

MY story. I went to bed Sunday night after eating a pizza, big bag of chips, 6 pack of beer and a couple cocktails. Woke up Monday at 7. Fell back asleep. Got back up at 11 and had to cancel work. Felt so horrible I decided to stop everything and go on a fast. I had done one 10 years ago for 3 days and knew I'd feel great after a couple days. I stayed on for 128 hours till Saturday morning. I went from 155lbs to 144.2lbs. I did moderate exercise for an hour as much as my body would handle. TRUTH- this time I felt out of it till Friday. It's now saturday morning as I type and I'm drinking coffee and going to eat in about an hour. I feel like a new man...Fasting works- even if you dont do it right- it's the hardest "easy" thing you'll ever do.

Self esteem is NOT being respected by others, self esteem is having the ability to self realize so profoundly one doesn't need to look outside of oneself for your worth, your connection to your soul and creation is your value. Looking outside of yourself for worth and esteem is nothing more than a fix to which you will need another and another.
  • I fasted for 3 days over last summer and it really helped me delve deeper during a secondary spiritual awakening in my life.
  • - It's true - it's free - it's fast ;) - it's life changing - extreme energy - lighter on your feet - sense of smell, touch taste and sight improve dramatically

I've done loads of pure water fasts. 2 x 14 days, 3 x 10 days 4 x 9 days, 4 x 7 days and many 3 days. He's got it easy! Fasting is great for mind and body, but you need to do a zero calorie fast and go into ketosis to reap the benefits!
  • @neosilente
to drink sugar is not fasting!!! is just drinking sugar
  • The main benefit of fasting is getting into ketosis, that's when the magic happens, neurogenesis, autophagy, mental performance, fat loss, killing pre cancerous cells, the list goes on. I find it hard to believe you get these benefits breaking your fast with sugar from both the lemon & maple syrup. That's literally the antithesis of fasting.

It's so hard. All my traumas keep coming up during my fast. I'm on day 5 and traumas I haven't thought about keep coming up. This is my 3rd fast. The last two were 7 days. I'll try to go longer this time. I only drink water. I used to do the master cleanse but noticed the water fast is so much more effective.
  • @umabari
I think he would handle his "fast" better if he wasn't loading up on maple syrup. By jacking up his insulin levels, he's making it a million times harder.
  • @carspottersa
when I fast for long periods of time it's like I become braver I don't get scared or flinch for things I usually do. I think it is because of never spiking your insulin during the days.
  • @evaevita4567
that drink he takes is 600 cal.... you can make 2 decent meals out of those calories..... fasting means without calories

Fasting plus walking and light jogging made me loose 35 pounds in 5 months. Still need to loose 10 pounds and I'll be as light as I was when I was 16 years old, I'm 29 now. Fasting is the most important thing I've learned this year for sure. I recommend it to anyone. It costs nothing(you save money from not buying food), makes you healthier, sharper, younger, ect.
