With the population of darktide dropping over the past few months I wanted to throw my hat into the ring on how I think Fatshark can address some of the late game issues that are affecting Darktide.

This game has the potential to be really successful and hopefully if the developers listen to the community and our feedback we can see some good improvement with time!

Unpopular opinion but allow us to move perks or blessings from unwanted weapons onto curios OR cosmetic items
  • In the feb 9th dev log they said in relation to item rewards after missions: The Emperor’s Gift, which was occasionally received upon successful mission completion, will now be granted upon every mission completion without any limit by time, as was previously the case. In addition, the Emperor’s Gift will be influenced by several factors: The difficulty of the chosen mission and the conditions and side missions completed. Both factors will improve the chances of receiving an item with higher potential. hopefully that means we get this soon.

All the armor cosmetics you can earn or buy with ingame currency are different color variations of the same armor, with an added shoulder pad here and there. The armor that are truly different in looks are only available in the premium shop. And that's just bullshit.

    1. "Player Freedom", ie poor mission board design. They clearly attempted to copy Deep Rock Galactic's mission board design, for some reason, but implemented it so poorly that it boggles the mind. Now the Mission Board likely isn't going anywhere, but doubling the options and a faster recycle rate will go a ways to solving the issue, namely the Mission Board being at odds with the Weekly Missions. But ensuring there is always a Grimoire and Scripture Secondary Objective available for each difficulty would be better. 2. "No Goals/Gear", ie infrequent rewards. This is honestly the least of our concerns, and one which Fatshart has stated they are fixing. 3. Customization, ie fashion avarice. Not likely to ever be fixed due to Tencent and simple human desire. 4. Locations/Environments, ie just plain whining. It's a Hiveworld, what the fuck were you expecting? Either case will be solved in time, though with the current state of the code and Fatshart's usual release cycle, it will be glacial in comparison to comparable titles.

And the hero of the run (final 2 survivors rescuing the team and thus the run) should be rewarded with at least double the gear or a guaranteed legendary or better yet, gear with high stat floors.

I don't think the crafting is really that big of a deal. The post missions rewards were empty, but the problem was a story structure. Vermintide has a clear order of missions, even if we just replay the exact same ones over and over. Darktide has this dumb time based random chance mission system. So I have no way of tracking which levels and quests I've done. I want to make sure I play each mission and quest, but it feel like I've played the same level and 2 quests 50% of the time. It's boring. AFTER the missions, I was mad about the item system - a random roll store that I have to buy items from, and they all barely feel any different. If the weapon I wanted isn't there, I have to come back in an hour. That sucks. We wanted vermintide 2 in space, we did not get that.

Nope. Until they address the foundation and basics of the game it makes the late game effort pointless.
