Phil was a genius of vocals and bass. Those infections in the deepness of Sun Goes Down. What a loss to music, still can't believe it.
-
The best rocker the world have ever seen.
-
This lineup was phenomenal. They were on fire. All the lineups were great. I just find Sykes playing so awesome. I wish Phil could have stayed healthy. The world needs Lizzy right now.
-
That version of The Sun Goes Down is just bloody fantastic
-
its amazing how Bryan was able to drum such heavy metal
-
29 years and still shedding tears for Philo. What a legacy this magical band has left us

Phil Lynott was IMO the greatest songwriter that rock and roll has ever seen. He had a God given talent for weaving events in history or experiences or happenings in his life into Thin Lizzy songs.
-
The GREATEST rock band of all time IMO.
Phil's voice was strong and unique, with powerful thundering bass. Could also go slow and tender on songs and keep it cool. Brian Downey, his best mate from Dublin, is probably the most underrated drummer in the world. Brian knew where to keep it laid-back and simple, like "Dancing in the Moonlight" or when to unleash like "Shalala", while never missing a beat.
Scott has so much style in his playing, melodic, driving, tasteful, and amazing stage presence. A true pro.
All the other guitarists (and Wharton on keys), Brian "Robbo" Robertson, Gary Moore, Snowy, Midge, and the phenomenal John Sykes, were ALL world-class players.
They set the bar for what a rock band can be. For those that have had the pleasure to know this group, you've witnessed where pure talent and never-ending determination can go.
The legend lives on.
Long live Thin Lizzy 🌹⚡️ -
I was there that night. Only fourteen years old. Brilliant experience I will never forget
-
Born in 88, so I missed out on these by a long time. But my parents introduced me from a young age and I'm so thankful. Can't wait to get over to Dublin to finally see the Phil statue. Definitely on the Mount Rushmore of rock bands.
-
Been watching rock concerts on YouTube and this is ultimately the best. What an experience. Thin Lizzy will never be surpassed. Long live Phil Lynott. From Winston in SA.
-
All the kids today NEED to listen to Thin Lizzy. This is Rock N Roll at it's most finest and furious.
-
What a live band they were. It's worth noting that the punks never had a pop at them. Even they knew what raw power was.
-
John’s tone is undeniable. Such a monster.
-
Saw them in 1978 with my best friend and it changed our musical life! Amazing!
-
Cold Sweat!! Running down the back of my neck!! I've had the Flu many times. Never again. May you rest in peace Phil Lynott. Your influence is still felt by many.
-
If i was to be marooned on a desert island for life with only the music of one group....Thin Lizzy would be one of the very few bands i'd be happy to be castaway with.
-
Still in love with you. One of the greatest songs EVER!
-
Saw the mighty Lizzy 1979,Cleveland Municipal Stadium, World Series of Rock. Have been a fan for 45 years. Phil live took on a personna of a tiger, wild and untamed. R.I.P.(Rock In Peace)Phil.

He was such a great bassist. Perfect tempo, perfect writing, so tight with the drums, excellent in every way. And singing and playing at the same time, he was the boss.
